What’s more dangerous, a spouse or a serial killer?

Close to 15,000 people are murdered annually in the United States, with nearly 100 of these unfortunate souls believed to be victims of serial killers. In comparison, let’s look at the number of people killed by their spouse or intimate partner. Male victims make up about eighty percent of the 15,000 annual murders, with ten percent of these male victims being ushered into the afterlife by their wives. Female victims account for twenty percent of the total, with nearly half of them killed by their husbands. After doing the math, nearly 2700 people are killed annually by their spouses, which is significantly higher than the 100 estimated to be done in by serial killers.
