Pizza chain insured for Super Bowl giveaway

American pizza chain Papa John’s is preparing for a giveaway day this Sunday. Every 45 seconds during the Super Bowl, the chain will randomly select a customer who’s ordering their snacks online and give them a $45 store credit. If the Super Bowl game goes into overtime, Papa John’s will give a free large pizza to everyone who registers with the company’s loyalty program. Papa John’s currently sells those pizzas for $10 each.

While no Super Bowl game has ever gone into overtime, Papa John’s said it is prepared for a large payout.

“We have some insurance to cover if that does happen,” Jude Thompson, the company’s co-CEO told a local news station.

Online gambling company Bodog says the proposition bet on whether a Super Bowl will go to overtime is no at -1700 and yes at +850.
