Ontario police charge four with fraud in decade-old arson case

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Essex Country have arrested and charged four individuals after an investigation relating to an arson that occurred in November 2000.

The investigation found that the homeowner planned to burn down the Kingsville residence in order to collect the insurance proceeds.

The OPP said  male from Kirkland Lake, Ontario (48), a male from Essex (70), and a female from  Kingsville (39) have been charged with Arson for a Fraudulent Purpose and Fraud Over $5000.  A male formerly from Kingsville (38) has been charged with the above offences as well as Uttering Threats.

An arrest warrant has been granted for the other two accused parties.
