Nova Scotia seeking public input on auto insurance review
The Nova Scotia government wants residents’ input on the province’s scheduled auto insurance review.
“We want to make sure that the voice of auto insurance consumers is heard,” said Graham Steele, Minister for the Insurance Act. “The purpose of this independent review is to ensure Nova Scotians have access to appropriate coverage and premiums that are fair, stable and affordable.”
A website – http://www.gov.ns.ca/autoinsurancereview/ – has been created so visitors can access background information about the review and submit their comments online.
Public feedback can be submitted until February 25, 2011.
The Advisory Committee handling the review is led by Ron L’Esperance, former deputy minister and senior government official, and consists of the following members:
- Doug Murphy, Superintendent of Insurance
- Ken Myers, Chair, Insurance Brokers Association of Nova Scotia
- William A. Adams, Vice-President, Atlantic, Insurance Bureau of Canada
- John McKiggan, President, Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association
- Scott LeBlanc, Risk Manager, Atlantic Canada Enterprise Holdings Inc.
