Increased fines for car surfing, street racing and other driving infractions in Quebec
As of March 10, 2011, Quebec drivers who are convicted of any of a number of driving infractions will face increased fines.
The Société de l’assurance automobile du Quebec (SAAQ) said that Chapter 34 of the 2010 statutes also introduces suspension of a driver’s license for drivers who commit excessive speeding offences on the road network with off-road vehicles.
It also prohibits holding or hanging on to a power-assisted bicycle in motion, or being pushed or pulled by a power-assisted bicycle in motion.

* Car surfing is a highly risky. It is an offence under sections 433 and 434 of the Highway Safety Code.
