ILS Introduction to General Insurance (ILS IGI), Canada’s newest Level 1 licensing program for the insurance industry, now available in Manitoba

Canada’s newest Level 1 licensing program for insurance professionals is now available in Manitoba. ILScorp, a long-time provider of insurance and financial services education and training, is proud to announce that the ILS Introduction to General Insurance (ILS IGI) program has recently been accredited by the General Insurance Council of Manitoba.

First launched in British Columbia in January 2012, dozens of students have already used the ILS IGI program to become Level 1 licensed. In late February 2012, 25 students took part in the first live ILS IGI training seminar. More than 80 percent of the class passed the final exam on the first try – and the vast majority scored 90 percent or better.

Building on the strong foundation of innovative, Internet-based training ILScorp has honed its twelve years of online insurance education experience and created the comprehensive ILS Introduction to General Insurance program, which is adaptable to all learning types. An easy-to-follow text book, online text or video instruction, study guide, electronic flash cards and practice exams allow students to review program material at their own pace so they are fully confident before writing the ILS IGI final exam.

“We’re excited to offer this great new Level 1 General Insurance Agent licensing program to Manitobans,” said Ken MacRae, President and CEO, ILScorp. “The feedback from our students in B.C. has been overwhelmingly positive and now newcomers to the insurance industry in Manitoba can also benefit from the most-up-to-date and comprehensive licensing program.”

“ILScorp has been educating insurance professionals through online training programs for more than a decade,” said Steve Hawrishok, founder of ILScorp and author the ILS IGI program. “The addition of the ILS Introduction to General Insurance program to the growing catalog of offerings for Manitoba insurance professionals really reinforces just how seriously ILScorp takes education, from the licensing to the continuing education stages.”

“We listened to our students and examined the current learning environment in Canada,” said MacRae. “We found that students had very limited options in obtaining their Level 1 insurance salesperson license. The ILS Introduction to General Insurance program gives newcomers to the insurance industry the opportunity to obtain their salesperson’s license from Canada’s leading insurance education and training provider.”
