ICBC driver licensing centres, systems unavailable on Jan. 22
ICBC’s driver licensing centres and systems will be unavailable Saturday, January 22, to upgrade information systems in a new data centre. This work was originally scheduled for earlier this month, but was delayed until this weekend.
The disruption means the following driver licensing centres that are normally open on Saturdays will be closed:
- Metrotown (Burnaby) – Metrotown Mall, 4820 Kingsway, Burnaby
- Cloverdale (Surrey) – Clover Square Mall, 17700 56th Avenue, Surrey
- Guildford (Surrey) – Boardwalk Mall, 15285 101st Avenue, Surrey
- Richmond – Ironwood Plaza, 11662 Steveston Highway, Richmond
Appointed agents across the province that deliver services on ICBC’s behalf will also be impacted by the information systems outage. These offices will be open and provide services other than driver licensing and payment of driving-related fines.
Drivers who want to release their vehicle from a 30, 60 or 90 day impoundment on January 22 or 23 should make arrangements for release applications a day or two earlier. Customers whose vehicles have been impounded for shorter periods can make arrangements with the impound lot directly.
