The company was founded by employees of the University of New Brunswick, including Sandy Bird, who has been the company’s chief technology officer.
Bird studied electrical engineering at UNB and held a variety of technical positions at the university before leaving for Q1 Labs. The company’s headquarters has been in Waltham, Mass., since 2001.
