George Bailey or Clark Griswald – How today’s bosses compare to holiday movie characters

Is your boss a Scrooge or more Santa-like? As a boss, do you think It’s a Wonderful Life or would you rather be Home Alone?

Holiday movies have featured characters with strong personalities, either for the better or for the worse. While most holiday movie characters were created specifically for the silver screen, the writers did draw inspiration from the people around them and these characteristics are apparent in the people we work with each day.

A new CareerBuilder survey, conducted by Harris Interactive, asked more than 4,500 workers which holiday movie character most reminded them of their own boss. The results:

1. George Bailey from “It’s a Wonderful Life”– 19 percent

2. Rudolph from “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”– 14 percent

3. Willie, the main character from “Bad Santa”– 10 percent
