Deadline approaching for NB disaster financial assistance
New Brunswick residents who suffered damages during recent severe storms and flooding are encouraged to register their damages and apply for disaster financial assistance.
Homes and properties were damaged in recent weeks after heavy rains caused flooding and storm surges battered coastal communities.
Residents planning to apply for disaster financial assistance are reminded of two deadlines: Jan. 14 for registering with Service New Brunswick to obtain an application form; and Feb. 4 for submitting the completed application.
Advance payments of up to $4,000 continue to be available to those with immediate financial needs. Advance payments are for health and safety measures or urgently needed repairs that will speed re-entry and re-occupation of homes or businesses.
