Hi, this is Shelley Ridgewell calling in from the 2011 RIMS Canada convention in Ottawa. The spectacular setting here at the Ottawa convention centre will house the majority of the conference activities. Risk manager peers and industry partners will meet over the next few days.
Today begins with the opening ceremonies but many delegates have been here since Saturday with the exhibit hall in full swing since yesterday. The scale of the RIMS Canada Conference has always been perfect for connecting peers and reconnecting with colleagues from across the continent and the globe.
And the dynamic array of speakers, sessions and events here this week are sure to keep the delegates engaged and will considerably raise the profile of risk management in Canada.
Sessions will touch on enterprise risk management and the argument for it; the latest legislation affecting field, and much more!
Our keynote speaker today is John Fulong, CEO of Vancouver’s Olympic and Paralympic Games, who’ll be presenting Patriot Hearts, Inside the Olympics that Changed a Country.
Well, I’m off to the exhibit hall to see what products and services are being offered by our industry, partners, and suppliers. This conference is shaping up to be a great one, and if you are in risk management in Canada, this is definitely the place to be.
So follow us on Twitter to receive more live updates from the conference and stay tuned for the RIMS wrap up on ILSTV this week from Julie Hawrishok.
