Alberta Standard Automobile Insurance Policy (SPF #1) revised

Alberta’s Superintendent of Insurance has issued a bulletin to all licensed automobile insurance companies in the province, alerting them that the Alberta Standard Automobile Insurance Policy (SPF #1) has been revised. The new policy is available online. (PDF)

The revisions reflect the changes that become effective July 1, 2012 with the implementation of the Insurance Amendment Act, 2008.

The Bulletin notes that the Insurance Amendment Act, 2008 requires statutory conditions to be attached to all auto policies issued in Alberta. A copy of the relevant section (section 556) is available online. (PDF)
