Canada’s Financial Literacy Task Force is asking for input from citizens across the country on their financial needs and goals.
The task force has launched a website where Canadians can ponder a string of questions about savings, debt and financial planning, and soon, the task force will be able to offer feedback. The group was charged in June with developing Canada’s first national strategy to strengthen the country’s knowledge about making responsible financial choices.
Canadians will have an opportunity to speak about their financial concerns and aspirations, starting in Vancouver and Yellowknife on April 6 and ending in Ottawa May 13.
Canadians can also mail, fax and email their ideas and discuss finances online until April 30. The public consultation phase is expected to be completed in time for the group to deliver an action plan to the federal finance minister in December. The task force website is www.financialliteracyincanada.com.
